She received her Ph.D. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1998. As the first or corresponding author, she has published over 160 research papers, some in top journals such as Psychological Medicine, Neuroscience and Biobehavioral Reviews, Health Psychology, Journal of Personality. The National Natural Science Foundation of China funded a number of research projects with her as principal investigator. She currently serves as the co-Editor-in-Chief for “Applied Psychology: Health and Well-being” (IF=7.521) and is the President of Division 8 of the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). She is also an Associate Editor for the top local journals “Acta Psychologica Sinica”,“Advances in Psychological Science”, and “Journal of Pacific Rim Psychology.” Her research on stress, coping, and health psychology has embraced numerous state-of-the-art techniques such as laboratory experiments, molecular genetics, physiological indexes, ERP, and fMRI. He works as a psychiatrist and as a researcher in Shanghai Mental Health Center, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is the president or committee member of several Chinese academic associations (Vice President, Geriatric Psychology Branch, Chinese Psychological Society; Committee Member, Neuroimage Branch, Chinese Neuroscience Society; President, Shanghai Association of Behavioral Medicine; President, Shanghai Association of Psychiatrist. etc.). He is also an editor of Cochrane Schizophrenia Group, The Cochrane Library. His research interests include new intervention for mental disorders, the plasticity of cognitive aging brain and evidence-based psychiatry.
