Dr. Brian Hall presented at the 33rd International Congress of Psychology on "Evidence for the Importance of the Social Determinants of Migrant Health in a Changing World." His talk addressed the pressing global public health concerns related to migrant health, focusing on the challenges faced by both distressed labor migrants and humanitarian migrants. Dr. Hall discussed key drivers of health risks, including discrimination and inadequate social support, and the barriers to mental health care, such as provider shortages and linguistic challenges. Drawing on over 15 years of community-engaged research, he highlighted best practices and proposed policies and interventions to enhance the health and well-being of diverse migrant communities.
