Social Determinants of Migrants and Refugee Mental Health

The mental health of migrants and refugees is a critical public health concern that requires a comprehensive understanding of the social determinants influencing their well-being. Based on large scale cohort studies and cross-sectional studies, we explored the impact of various social determinants, such as socioeconomic status, social support networks, cultural adaptation, discrimination, and access to healthcare services, on internal migrants in China and refugees in Australia. Thefindings emphasize the need for targeted interventions and policies that address these social determinants to promote positive mental health outcomes among this vulnerable population and reduce health inequality.
